In accord with the general rules of Prison Organization, a warden is instituted into Kaohsiung Second Prison, who is in charge of the prison and, in addition, executes the functions of chief of Kaohsiung Detention House and Kaohsiung Juvenile Detention and Classification House. Under the warden are a vice warden and a secretary. Six departments respectively in charge of guarding, sanitation and hygiene, general affairs, investigation and classification, rehabilitation, and working and four offices respectively in charge of personnel affairs, accounting, statistics, and internal affairs are the organizational components. Each of these is assigned statutory functions. In addition, each also takes charge of corresponding functions in the two detention houses.
